Privacy Policy

BetterLSAT is operated by 1001302039 Ontario Inc., an Ontario corporation. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. Questions: support@betterlsat.com.

What we collect

• Account and profile — name, email, password (hashed), and details you add such as target score, test date, and target schools.
• Billing — name, address, country, and transaction history. We do not store full card numbers; our payment processor handles those.
• Study activity — your answers, timing, accuracy, progress, and the score estimates and analytics we generate from them.
• Technical data — IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and session times.
• From others — basic profile details from a sign-in provider you use, such as Google, and, if you link an official LSAC subscription, your results on official materials.

How we use it

To run your account and deliver our courses, question banks, practice tests, and score reports; to personalize your study plan; to process payments and prevent fraud; to improve our questions and the accuracy of our score estimates, mostly using aggregated or de-identified data; to keep the Services secure; to respond to you and send service, billing, and security messages; to measure our marketing; and to meet legal and contractual obligations.

Who we share it with

• Service providers who work on our behalf — hosting, payments, authentication, analytics, email, support, and video. You can ask us for the categories we use.
• LSAC, if you use official LSAT content (see below).
• Marketing and referral partners, only if you opt in — see “Affiliates and partners.”
• Professional advisors, an acquirer in a sale of the business, and authorities where required by law or to protect legal rights or safety.
• Anyone you consent to, such as publishing a testimonial with your name.

Aggregated or de-identified information that can’t reasonably identify you isn’t personal information, and we may use it without restriction.

Affiliates and partners

We may earn a commission or referral fee when you click a link to, or buy from, a third party through our site. This never changes your price and doesn’t mean we endorse them.

If you opt in to hear from a marketing or referral partner, we may share your name, email, and general study interests with them, and we may be paid for it. We do not share your score estimates, performance analytics, or payment details. Under some U.S. state privacy laws this counts as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, and our advertising tools may also count as “sharing.” You can opt out at any time by emailing support@betterlsat.com.

Official LSAT content and LSAC

Our free diagnostics use only original questions we wrote. They aren’t official LSAT questions, and taking one doesn’t share anything with the Law School Admission Council (“LSAC”).

If you access official LSAT content through us, we must activate and link your LSAC subscription, which means your name and email go to LSAC, your sign-ins are logged, and we may receive your results on official materials. LSAC is an independent U.S. organization with its own Privacy Notice.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar tools to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the site, measure usage, and measure advertising. Advertising and analytics platforms may set their own cookies under their own policies. You can manage cookies in your browser, adjust ad settings on those platforms, or email us to opt out of targeted advertising. Blocking essential cookies will break parts of the site.

Where it’s processed and how long we keep it

We operate internationally, so your information may be stored or accessed outside your country, including in Canada and the United States, where local authorities may be able to access it under their laws. We use contractual and technical safeguards wherever it’s handled.

We keep account and study data while your account is active and for 24 months after; financial records for 7 years; support messages for 24 months; and logs for 12 months. Aggregated or de-identified data may be kept indefinitely.

Security

We use encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and monitoring, plus the additional protections our LSAT licence requires for licensed content. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we’ll notify you and the regulators as required.

Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct, delete, or send you a copy of your information, withdraw consent, or stop marketing emails — just email support@betterlsat.com. We may need to verify your identity, and some information we must keep by law. Service, billing, and security messages continue while you have an account.

In Canada, you can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial regulator. In the U.S., depending on your state, you may have additional rights to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale or sharing of your information, to appeal our decision, and to use an authorized agent.

Children

The Services are for people 18 and over, and for 13- to 17-year-olds only with a parent or guardian’s involvement. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13 and will delete it if we do.

Changes

We may update this policy and will give at least 30 days’ notice of material changes by email or in-product notice.
